If you are pregnant you may be anemic

If you are pregnant you may be anemic Brought to U.... http://successgain.us       and      http://successgain.info My memories If you are pregnant you may be anemic Posted in 2013 When you're pregnant, you may develop anemia. When you have anemia, your blood doesn't have enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen to your tissues and to your baby. During pregnancy, your body produces more blood to support the growth of your baby. If you're not getting enough iron or certain other nutrients, your body might not be able to produce the amount of red blood cells it needs to make this additional blood. It's normal to have mild anemia when you are pregnant. But you may have more severe anemia from low iron or vitamin levels or from other reasons. Anemia can leave you feeling tired and weak. If it is severe but goes untreated, it can increase your risk of serious complications like preterm delivery. Anemia can leave you feeling tir...

Anemia and Pregnancy ... 3

Anemia and Pregnancy ... 3 Brought to U.... http://successgain.us       and      http://successgain.info My memories Anemia and Pregnancy ... 3 Posted in 2015 One of the blood tests you'll have is a complete blood count (CBC). Among other things, the CBC measures: The percentage of red blood cells in your bloodstream (hematocrit or Hct) The amount of hemoglobin (Hgb or Hb) in those red blood cells Blood test results The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control give guidelines for diagnosing anemia. In the first and third trimesters, an Hct less than 33 percent and an Hgb level less than 11 grams (g) of hemoglobin per deciliter (dL) of blood suggest anemia. In the second trimester, the levels are a little lower: 32 percent Hct and 10.5 g/dL Hgb. Your provider may follow up your CBC with more tests to determine if iron deficiency is the cause of your anemia. Even if you're not anemic ...

Avoid birth defects of Brain

Avoid birth defects of Brain Brought to U.... http://successgain.us       and      http://successgain.info My memories Avoid birth defects of Brain Posted in 2013 Birth defects of the central nervous system are called neural tube defects (NTDs). NTDs include conditions called  spina bifida , anencephaly and encephalocele. They are all present at birth and are due to a problem with the development of the brain and/or spinal cord in the developing baby (fetus). The brain and spinal cord of a growing fetus develop from a simple structure called the  neural tube . The neural tube ‘zips up’ along its length to close and protect the brain and spinal cord. If the neural tube doesn’t close at any part along its length, the baby will have a neural tube defect. The types of neural tube defects (spina bifida, anencephaly and encephalocele) are due to the place along the neural tube that hasn’t closed, leaving parts of the brain and/or spi...

Anemia and Pregnancy .. 2 Brought to U.... http://successgain.us       and      http://successgain.info My memories Anemia and Pregnancy .. 2 Posted in 2014 Am I at risk of becoming anemic? Yes. Pregnancy increases your likelihood of becoming anemic. During pregnancy, the recommended amount of iron increases from 18 milligrams (mg) per day to 27 mg per day. You need extra iron to support additional red blood cells, the placenta, and your growing baby. Plus, the extra iron prepares your body for any blood loss that may occur when you give birth. But there are other factors outside pregnancy that increase your risk further, including: Heavy menstrual periods A diet low in iron-rich foods A diet low in vitamin-C-rich foods (which help with iron absorption) Eating too many foods or drinks that reduce iron absorption (like dairy products, foods containing soy, coffee and tea) A short gap between pregnancies Being younger than 20 when y...

The effects of Alcohol

The effects of Alcohol Brought to U.... http://successgain.us     and    http://successgain.info My memories The effects of Alcohol Posted in 2013 The effects of alcohol on fertility are greater than you may think. Even moderate alcohol consumption may lower fertility. Alcoholic beverage consumption is well accepted in most countries world wide. As infertility rates increase, we have to wonder if regular alcohol consumption may contribute to this problem. We all know that heavy drinkers have a greater risk for all sorts of health problems, but what if you dr ink 5 or less alcoholic beverages a week? Research shows, even women who consumed 5 drinks or less a week each, had lowered fertility. The good news is that moderate alcohol consumption did not affect the length of time it took the couples to get pregnant. Those couples who drank more than 5 alcoholic beverages a week took longer to conceive. One study performed over a 3 year pe...

Anemia and Pregnancy ...1 Brought to U.... http://successgain.us       and      http://successgain.info My memories Anemia and Pregnancy ...1 Posted in 2014 Your body goes through significant changes when you become pregnant. The amount of blood in your body increases by about 20-30 percent, which increases the supply of iron and vitamins that the body needs to make hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to other cells in your body. Many women lack the sufficient amount of iron needed for the second and third trimesters. When your bo dy needs more iron than it has available, you can become anemic. Mild anemia is normal during pregnancy due to an increase in blood volume. More severe anemia, however, can put your baby at higher risk for anemia later in infancy. In addition, if you are significantly anemic during your first two trimesters, you are at greater risk for having a pre-term delivery or lo...

Right brain working

Right brain working Brought to U.... http://successgain.us       and      http://successgain.info My memories Right brain working Posted in 2015 Modern society and the educational system tend to discriminate against the right hemisphere and nonverbal forms of intellect. Experiments show that most children rank highly creative (right brain) before entering school. Because our educational systems place a higher value on left brain skills such as mathematics, logic and language than it does on drawing or using our imagination, only ten percent of these same childre n will rank highly creative by age 7. By the time we are adults, high creativity remains in only 2 percent of the population. Recent studies have shown that the abacus method of mental calculation is effective in the development of the right brain. At first, this idea was only a hypothesis, but the recent development of high-tech brain imaging equipment has helped pr...
