Risk to the child if Mother suffer from Thyroid
The thyroid (say: THYE-royd) is a gland, which is an organ that produces special chemicals called Hormones..
All the cells in the body need thyroid hormones to work properly. These hormones control how fast the body uses up energy and are also key factors in helping kids grow. If mother suffers from Thyroid -hypothyroid during pregnancy the child will face various Health Problems. Moms who are hypothyroid have low thyroid hormone levels and elevated TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) levels. Symptoms include cold intolerance, weight gain, dry skin, thinning hair, poor appetite, fatigue, depression and reduced milk supply. Please read my blog Thyroid from my blog See my Health blogs
Most of woman have doubts about their would be child if they suffers from Thyroid
I have thyroid disease. Will this affect my pregnancy or baby?
A: Untreated thyroid conditions can cause problems during pregnancy, but most women who are properly treated go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. The thyroid is a gland located in your neck that produces a hormone responsible for regulating your metabolism and controlling many of your body's organs. Thyroid disease happens when your immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys cells in the thyroid gland. This results in your thyroid producing either too many hormones (hyperthyroidism) or too few (hypothyroidism). Some women develop thyroid problems before they become pregnant, while others experience them for the first time during pregnancy. If you have hypothyroidism, your baby has a higher risk of neurological or developmental problems (like lower IQ). You'll be given hormone replacement pills to boost the level of thyroid hormone in your blood. If you have hyperthyroidism, you're more likely to develop a type of pregnancy-related high blood pressure called preeclampsia, and you'll need medication to reduce the amount of thyroid hormone your body makes. However, you should not be given radioactive iodine (a common treatment) during pregnancy because it can damage your unborn baby's thyroid gland. The good news is that most medications used to treat thyroid disorders are safe to take during pregnancy.
Thyroid is not a disease...This problem arises due to Unhealthy food, unhealthy life style ..If you follow Healthy food and life style you can have Healthy child...

My advise
1...   Hypothyroidism, wherein the thyroid gland produces an inadequate amount of thyroid hormone, is a common disorder, particularly in women of childbearing age.
2... Hypothyroidism of the mother during pregnancy may result in developmental delay in the child.
3...  Treatment of hypothyroidism requires thyroid hormone medication.
4.....There may be indications to start thyroid hormone therapy in women who are borderline in thyroid function and who are either pregnant or desiring pregnancy.
5...  The treatment goal of hypothyroidism in pregnancy is to maintain a thyroid hormone level within high normal range.
6.....Pregnant women who are on thyroid hormone should have blood testing frequently during pregnancy as requirements may change.
7... Early studies found that children born to mothers with severe, untreated hypothyroidism during pregnancy had lower IQ scores and impaired psychomotor (mental and motor) development. If properly controlled, often by increasing the amount of thyroid hormone, women with hypothyroidism can have healthy, unaffected babies
8...  I advise every woman who wish to conceive should adopt health habits and leave oily, spice....food to to have healthy child.
